Artichoke and cheese tart
My sister-in-law, Jenni, gave me an amazing vegetarian cookbook at Christmas a year or so ago. I've used it at home, but was often confounded because it was from the UK and I couldn't find the ingredients at home at Lance's. No more. Not only can I find everything here, but apparently the cookbook author used the exact amount of grams for each ingredient in the same increments that you buy here. So if I need 250 grams of gorgonzola for the tart, there it is on the shelf, ready to go. This makes for breezy cooking. Thanks, Jen. It's the only cookbook I brought and I use it all the time.Which leads me to the next lovely thing about Cardiff. IKEA. Here is what I will bring home with me, purchased at IKEA:
-the simple and economical can opener
-the potato peeler that works like a charm
-my lovely tart pan.

Ha... totally converted, i do believe i detect a brussel in there!!
Hello, Bride!! Actually, it's all artichoke hearts. I'm trying to think of what they call brussel sprouts here--just sprouts I think. I can't find any evidence that they roast them here, which of course is the very best way to eat brussel sprouts!
Bring us some...figgy pudding?
No way, Sally. They use scales?? I just use the packages. I'm going to have to check that out.
And Dave, I wish I could bring back some cheese for you. It's amazing. I'll have to check out the rules. Plus I think I'm shipping back a lot of stuff--esp. if I can't have carry on luggage.
