Home.
It started with chick weekend. Then it was about the early fall snow. My sister's birthday party. And our kitty. Homesick.
We're just about at the halfway point. Life is pretty calm. (Except we did go to the Dr. Who exhibit last weekend--pretty fun.) My work days are way too quiet. There are more rainy days than clear now. (Although the last two days the sun came out for about an hour before sunset.) The electricity went off for a couple of hours tonight on OUR side of the street only.
I think this will be my only depressing entry. I miss my family, my friends, the cat, South Bend, the dryer, the car, having control over my life, speedy services. It's kind of an up and down thing, and I look for it to fade soon.
Because...our neighbors from NM will be here this weekend. Starting next weekend, a week in France, most of it in Paris. The Louvre!!!! Greg's mom and cousin the week following that. Planning some kind of Thanksgiving with friends here in November. And then it's about getting ready for Christmas. A quick trip to Scotland, and return. Then the flight home.
I've made a friend. Her name is Elaine and she cracks me up. We sat in the cafe yesterday discussing church business (she works for the church, as well) and laughing. It was very good.

Annie, all will pass and the sun will shine again. I am glad for your new found friend~
I understand how difficult it is to be away from everything that you love; I still struggle with it. Hang in there.
I will send you some photos from the weekend. we did some funny comparison shots of the siblings... who looks like who, and all that. It was quite a shindig, and Mom was really surprised!! Annie, do you think you guys have any photos of us together from the wedding? I cant find any, how could that have happened?
J will be in London starting thursday for one week. Will you have a chance to get to London in the next week? I know he would love to see you.
love, shel
Thanks for all the kind words, my friends and relations. Things are much brighter--you just kind of have to make up your mind to dig yourselves out of this, you know?
