Saturday afternoon and evening
No matter how I try to arrange the pics, they always end up out of order!
This is the cemetery on the cathedral green at St. David's cathedral. St. David is the patron saint of Wales. After we left the beach Saturday, we moved on to St. Davids. Begun in 1181, on the site of an ancient monastery, pilgrims have visited it for centuries.
How Greg got this pic with little or no tourists is a mystery. Very ancient, this one.
The pipe organ.
There was a very fancy wedding going on, so we had to wait. When the wedding party came out, you'd have thought you were in the presence of royals. The women's suits and hats!!
The nave. Notice te wooden ceilings.
After we left the cathedral, we went to the wild Pembrokeshire coast for a hike along it's famous coastal trail. The color of the sea that evening!
This is looking across to Ramsey Island, where seals and puffins have sanctuary.
Oops. And one more at the cathedral. A knight's tomb--circa 1300.That night we ate a deli. It was the worst food we've had here--I won't even go into detail. Pub food gone awry. Some among us were fearful we'd be sick later...but all was well.
Tomorrow's blog...we visit the white horse.
