Vacation pics

From our vacation...

These are a little out of order. Above: The summit of Cadair Idris, the second highest point in Great Britain. Quite a hike, on quite a day. Very windy at the top.
View from the top of Cadair Idris. This was a 5 hour hike to the summit and back. Very beautiful.
New hiking boots!! The kids and I were outfitted before we left.
After the hike, we went out to dinner in Barmouth, a resort town on the beach. Yummy food--Kaity had a hummus and kalamata platter, Kieron had some kind of pesto spread on bread, and Greg and I had a prawn and anchovie fisherman's pizza. It was delightful.
Then the rains started and vacation moved indoors. Another day: English tea at 4 in Caernarfon. (Pronounced car NAR von).

And another day: Beau Maris Castle on the isle of Anglesey. Ancient. Overgrown. Lovely.

Apparently not--I looked him up. He was English. The earl of Carnarvon.
