Quiet weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner on Friday night with Elaine and Emyr and their kids, Rachal and Ffion. Emyr is the prof who works with Greg, and Elaine is the closest thing I have to a sidekick, but I don't see her nearly enough. I had gone on a hunt earlier in the day, on foot, in the rain, for a meat thermometer, to no avail. So, panicked at the thought that the center of the stuffing would not reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit, for the first time ever, I didn't stuff the turkey. All turned out well, but the truth is, I did overcook it. Good thing there was plenty o' gravy. The girls loved Kaity's brownies, the parents enjoyed the apple pie and we played Cranium 'til late.

Saturday, we took off for the city centre to shop and to the cine to watch Casino Royale. Yesterday, the rain let up for the first time in, oh, forever I think, and Greg and I took off for the local park, Cefn Onn, which is about a fifteen minute walk away. It must have been 60 degrees outside and sunny, so thank you all for sending that my way. In the afternoon, I told Kaity I was planning to have family night (usually a treat and a game or some activity that we do back home) and she said, "Isn't every night family night here?" referring to the fact that we all spend lots of time together. Warmed my heart.
